It’s A Thing

When you are RVing, you learn things. Some you already knew like sewage will not flow uphill as easily as downhill. Why that is still such a learning curve for RV parks I don’t know.

You also learn that there are 3 types of RV’s. type  A’s are the giant motorhomes built on truck or bus chassis, that for some reason when in Alaska on the Seward highway in the summer can only attain a top speed of 45 mph.

Type B’s are like the van with a name, that are obviously smaller and more nimble, and get better fuel economy.

It's The Van With A Name But Only On The Back

And the type C that are similar to the van with a name but have pop outs and usually bunks over the cabs.

Its strange that the most popular type of RV the Caravan or Trailer doesn’t have a type. I guess because it doesn't have a engine, and you have to pull it with a pickup.

Caravans Are Easy To Tow

The amazing thing about caravans and their humans is that the humans are the hardest working RV’ers anywhere. If they can’t pull through then they have to maneuver  and back in. which most make look easy  but then they have to uncouple the tow vehicle, even though  they are not going anywhere else but inside the caravan.

Hook Up

Uncoupling is only the beginning, as once the RV is free of the truck the Caravan has to be blocked up and leveled. Most caravans have jacks in each corner that the wrangler will deploy usually with a power drill, or impact. Outside power, water, and sewer have to be connected. The awning needs to be extended. Portable satellite tv antenna have to be pulled out and aligned to satellites, and finally chairs, tables, BBQ’s lawn ornaments all have to be pulled out, and set up. I have actually seen caravan wranglers do all this and only stay the night, and pick it all up in the morning, put it all back and drive away.

Now in Mohican state park where I spent a few nights, and it was mostly caravan people who did this, but they carried with them complex Halloween decorations and set them all up for Saturday night trick or treating.

Come On In The Water Is Fine

It was a hoot to walk around and check out all the decorations and come Saturday night after a day of rain there were flocks of children all  up in Halloween  costumes  walking around gathering up what ever people were handing out.

The whole think made me think I should have gone to Woolworths and gotten a crepe paper pumpkin and put it in the window.
