Straight Pride Day 2012

It’s hard for me to get excited aboot the July 4^th celebrations. Here in amerika to make any type of progress has to become a struggle.  Thinking back to the days of Civil Rights regressive leaders like strom thurmond and george wallace who stood so far on the wrong side of the issue that Kennedy had to send in troops to get them to move out of the way of progress.

People screamed to have the war end in Vietnam. The 1972 election nixon said he would end it. But the industry making the machines for war continued to profit while kissenger talked with the Chinese aboot the shape of the table they would sit at to negotiate the end of the war.

The citizens united decision allowed corporations like the koch brothers to financially    support Wisconsin  Governor  scott walker, and the tvee adds convinced the voters to vote against unions, against the workers own best interest?  More money that ever before will be pumped into advertising for the November elections. Oh and health care is only for the WEALTHY!

I could be ok with America if it was the home of the free and the land of the brave.
