National Dance Day

National Dance Day

Who knew we had a national dance day? Well we do. The idea came from tvee producer Nigel Lythgoe, and was pushed through congress by a LIBERAL Woman who believes in healthy life styles and dance education.

Eleanor Norton
Thank you Congresswoman Eleanor Norton
The first National Dance Day was on July 31, 2010 and this year it is scheduled for July 28 everywhere but here. We have to have ours early to keep our NRA endorsed congressman forever ding young not a sponsor of the National Dance Day resolution from finding out that we dance.

The event here is put on by the Anchorage Downtown Partnership. Clean Safe Vital, and being the official photographer for the partnership, I was there. Actually I tried to get out of town but the Partnership reminded me of my commitment.

All manner and style of dancers were there, from ballet, ballroom to hip hop.

Some friends who happen to dance did a little jig..

Quite a few of the younger dancers, danced to Hip Hop. Now Hip Hop is not a style that I am attracted to but I gained quite appreciation of the energy the performers put into their dance.

National Dance Day is comming to your town so get out and dance!
