Happy Earth Day 2011

Earth Day got it's start in 1970 as a way to promote awareness and appreciation for our planets natural environment.
Sadly nowadays more and more people think that the natural environment is to live in over crowded cities and use fossil fuels as much as possible.
The latest estimates say that the average North American contributes about 20 tons of CO2 each year to the atmosphere.  The global average carbon footprint is about 4 tons.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency EPA, a agency that the republicans would love to privatize and let the koch brothers run, has a carbon calculator on there website..

All that carbon in the atmosphere is warming the planet. Melting the Arctic Ice, and will have dramatic effects on human life. Even if we cut green house emissions to zero right now, and did everything scientifically and correct the planet would still for the next 50 years be warming.
Here in corporate run amerika I just don't see us reducing carbon emissions ever.
Fortunately we have such great leaders like our own Congressman Don Young who says that when the Arctic Ice melts away we will be able to farm here!
Happy Forty First Birthday Earth Day
