Several bikes ago, on another road trip through Wisconsin,
stopping for fuel in Baraboo, I noticed that it is the home of the
international clown hall of fame.
Now I have no interest in clowns or their hall of fame, but
further down the road was a sign for the Wisconsin Crain Foundation. Not having
any time to stop, and figuring ill just stop at the next Crain foundation down
the road I went right past, and when I got home I googled and started to follow
the Wisconsin International Crain Foundation
This trip visiting the foundation was a priority and after messing around with phones and computers I applied my u tube master’s degree in GPX files and created another ride to the Crain’s
Once again the app created over 100-way points, but with further study I have found a way eliminate them, by using the motor company's map program on a computer.
The ride took us through Wisconsin farmland, and over Wild
Cat Mountain, where the road makes some tight hairpin twisty over probably the tallest
mountain in Wisconsin.
The newly renovated and newly opened center is situated a
ways out of town, carved out of farmland, and re populated with indigenous
plants.
The center features Crain’s of the world, most of which most
are endangered or in such low numbers that they could go extinct very soon.
Some birds are in enclosures that are netted off, and others like the Whooping Crain’s are just in the wild.
The Black Neck Crain was putting on quit a show by calling to the other inmates.
Visiting here was well worth the years wait, but probably
should have stopped last time…
Thank for reading…
