Amerikan Propaganda

My normally peppy postman is looking haggard and tired the last couple of days. His truck is so weighted down in the back, that it was difficult to steer. Luckily, he found some returned telephone books, that he placed around the front of his van to equal out his load.

The poor fellow is also having to work some overtime, and is a little worried that he won’t be paid for fear that the present regime will shutter the Post Office so people won’t be able to vote by mail in the midst of a pandemic.

 Besides the absentee ballots, mine  did not get delivered until 8:00 pm yesterday the really big load he is carrying is heavy stock printed political advertising.

Now some folks are irritated by having to empty their post box of all of these mailers, but I am not.

There are a lot of jobs created by these mailers… Jobs in the towns that turn trees into air that stinks, making paper. People  writing the copy, editing the text, and finally printing the fliers. Here in Alaska container ships that deliver to paper to the dock, and then truckers, that deliver it to the print shops.

Who knows what the inks consists of, but the people that make it most likely do?

 

How Ink Is Created

That is a lot of people hard at work to bring these filers to my postman’s overloaded post van. Who knows what they do in non-election years. Maybe they repair suspension on postal vans.

 We have some keenly contested races here in Anchorage this year, so I started to look at these filers. Not because I needed to figure out who to vote for…The choice is simple…Regressives (republicans) are Nazis.  Independents and democrats are not.

 I started to notice some things right off. All of the people that I am going to vote for all their mailers are printed in Union Shops.

Their mailers say things like “Building a brighter future for our community.” Calvin Schrage

“I promise to be accessible and a voice we can trust” Andy Holleman

Al Gross points out that his opponent dansullivan has ignored climate change will eliminate social security is anti-choice and just a first rate regressive koch industries employee first and senator never.

He is correct, about dan,  and  he must  have and be spending a lot of money as he has overloaded my collection and postman.  He also  has my support.

 Now here is where right wingnut  strategists have been paid overtime to induce fear to the political illiterate republican cult voter. 

Spreading That Old Socialist Fear

Our forever representative donyoung is once again campaigning on stamping out socialism, as long as it does not interfere with his government paycheck, and you have to love how regressives always return to "My opponent has joined Nancy Pelosi's team" is "Working for Nancy Pelosi" " Is sleeping with Nancy Pelosi" and on and on and on...

Now what could possibly be more Alaskan regressive that this jamoke melgillis who along with the  regular  Alaskan rhetoric, he finds it important to include that he is a  “Trade Union Member”, but his mailer does not carry the union label.

My absolute favorite mailer is from my appointed state senator and all-around sexist’s racist homophobic anti health care, pandemic nonbeliever, and municipal emergency order ignorer, the one and only joshrevak

It warms my heart that his propaganda starts with the winning statement “The free market principles that made amerka the greatest country on earth”

Would that be on the backs of slaves? The annihilation of indigenous people? At the destruction of the environment? Or just plane old tax cuts for the rich and corporations? And mainly here in Alaska with tax cuts for the wealthiest corporations on the planet, the oil companies. 

He finishes with his opponent thinks taxes are a natural resource coupled with Andy has given money to help bail out the people that are burning down our cities

As far as I know josh the people that our burning down our cities are right wing,  heavily armed white supremist, who I consider would be  your base.

 Hopefully more will come out of this election than mountains of propaganda, as  our democracy is seriously on the line like never before.
