Well after a week of multiple birthday celebrations. After a
week of total immersion of major loving family, that included old favorite restaurants,
and two new exciting establishments. d'Bali Asian BistroI I had the curry, and it was out of this
world! My compadres food was equally delicious, but I can’t tell you what they
had, as we were to busy eating to think about anything else. Another new place
we discovered was Boiada Brazilian Grill It was fantastic, and
authentic. It reminded me of the Brazilian restaurant we saw in Buenos Aries.
Boiada doesn’t have the open fires, for cooking like the one in Buenos Aries,
but does have a couple of stacks of broilers, where the meat you select is
broiled to perfection, and delivered to your table on a spit, by a waiter in
high boots, red poofy pants, and a very sharp knife.
We all had the lamb, and it was excellent!
We went to Sprague Days. Mostly because last year we found
cool stuff at the antique store but this year the store was more run down than
last year, and there could have been a treasure or two in the piles, but it was
too nasty to dig around in.
The custom cars were on display again, and there were multiple racist maga cult members, proudly wearing their little red caps, trump t shirts, and a confederate flag or two. All that was missing were some klan hoods, but then maybe they come out after dark, and we were gone way before then.
The unnamed camper van wouldn’t start after sitting in storage since June. Jumper cables had to be located and then a place to connect the negative terminal was difficult to find in a plastic engine compartment. She roared to life after a bit of scraping paint, and after a short run on the highway the battery was resurrected, and I was ready to get on the road.
It was pretty smoky when I headed east for a couple hundred
mile run up to Glacier National Park. Hopefully, the smoke will be not as thick east of here……
