Marco Polo

Our last stop in Italy is Venezia. We arrived by high speed train and unfortunately, we will have to resort to air travel to leave, since a train ride into Paris would cost us almost a full day of travel.
When one thinks of Venice you think of the shinny black Gondola boats like in the hotel in Las Vegas, where the canal smells like Clorox and the stars are always twinkling overhead.

The Canals

Well that ain’t Venezia. Everything moves on the water. The City Busses. Elegant water taxies, that were shined up every morning right outside my hotel. All manner of delivery boats bringing supplies to the restaurants, stores, and houses. Even the rubbish collector goes around on a boat, picking up the refuse, and taking it? Well deeper water maybe.

We found the best food in Venezia the way the locals do. Google. Trattoria Bar Pontini lived up to its 4.5-star rating. The staff was excellent and the food totally wonderful. I would go back there tonight but I am busy.
Then a day just to wander around Venezia…And discover that we were not even in the tourist part of town.

Vandalism?

Our driver was right on time and it wasn’t long before we were all loaded up and heading to the Marco Polo International Airport.
The Air France flight was right on time. We secured our exit row seats with a wi, and it was screaming fast ride in a jet powered bus…
