“If by a ‘Liberal’ they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad; if that is what they mean by a ‘Liberal,’ then I’m proud to say I’m a ‘Liberal.’
That is a darn good statement. I am proud to say that I am a Liberal for many of those same reasons.
But there aren't many of us here in Alaska.
Just a while ago Liza Murkowski conceded the primary election to Miller. The vote count favored Miller by 2369. Now I NEVER liked Liza, and I never liked her dad Frank. I disliked the Murkowski's because they towed the republican party line, apposed women's rights to abortion, apposed equal rights for homosexuals. They loved the oil companies, tax cuts for the wealthy, and just this year Liza tried to block the EPA from regulating carbon. Gee if that ain't a nutso republican for you then what is?
Joe Miller is. Miller won the primary in part by blitzing the media with Koch brother money and, calling Liza of all things Liberal.
Liberal is such a bad word in Alaskan Politics that just by going on tvee enough times and calling someone Liberal...Well this isn't the first time it worked.
So here you go republicans. YOU elected Palin. You supported her and McCain. You brought the tea baggers into the national spotlight. So what ya gonna do? Vote for a man that wants to dismantle the government then...has no plan! That should work.
Here is hoping you check another candidate...
Because a tea bagger world with out government regulation is not one that we want to live in...
